If you like the look of a clean front end when you’re not towing, this setup keeps things tidy. The hidden design leaves nothing protruding past the bumper, and the removable arms come off fast for a smooth, factory-style appearance. Receiver covers are included to plug the openings and keep dirt or debris out when you’re not hooked up.
Connecting your tow bar is simple. Each arm slides into the receiver, twists until it locks, and secures with a pin. When you’re done towing, pull the pin, twist, and remove the arms—it’s that straightforward. The twist-lock design makes it easy to align and connect even if you’re solo.
This base plate bolts straight to the chassis—no welding required. The sturdy steel build spreads towing forces evenly across the frame to help minimize stress on your suspension and maintain stability during long hauls. The powder-coated finish helps resist rust and corrosion so it can handle thousands of miles of use.
You can run it with Blue Ox tow bars for a direct fit or use adapters if you’re pairing it with Roadmaster (RM-031 or RM-031-5) or Demco (DM9523041) bars, all sold separately. Integrated mounting points make it easy to attach an electrical connector plug bracket up front for a clean wiring layout.
Everything needed to secure it comes in the box, and it bolts directly to your chassis with no welding involved. The straightforward design helps make installation manageable whether you’re setting up in your driveway or planning a weekend project. Distance between brackets is 32-1/2" and bracket height is 18" so you can plan your tow bar height accordingly.

This is the second or third time I have ordered products from etrailer. They are the best, Fast shipping, best prices. Last order was Blue OX base plates for my GMC truck, they priced and shipped at what other company;s wanted for just the base plates Great Company to do busines.with. Buck Burnette.
Package arrived in good shape. It was in a very heavy box and Will insulated.
The order arrived very quickly and is all intact. The (base plate) picture quality is a little poor from Blue Ox, but I talked to Angela B. and she is emailing the instructions to me for better viewing.
I might add that Blue Ox would have charged for shipping.
Now it is time for the installation.
Went well except for instructions installing baseplate for my 2017 Silverado. After grille removal was not close to the instructions. I [looked for installation videos for] 2018 model and instructions for grill and bumper removal was right. Nice project and saved a lot on install. etrailer is great at putting together the equipment you need. Love website to research products. Have not pulled truck any where yet. [(Covid)]
Easy to install, super strong, this is a great set up for towing a full size truck...plan on at least 4 to 6 hours to install brackets, light kit and air brake set up...i would also recommend the roadmaster brakemaster air set up as well, simple to install, I prefer this setup over the SMI air force one, it is a much simpler setup, less likely to fail and no worries of vacuum leaks...

Quality product relatively easy installation if you're mechanically inclined direction could you a little refining however they do get the job done. Great customer service and communication from the Etrailer crew!
Works great. I have a used base plate for a 2015 GMC 1500 pickup for sale. Truck no longer in use. Not sure what else it will fit.

Great product. I received the BX1731 base plate and followed the directions given to install on my 2018 Chevy High Country. Install went smoothly and took about 3 hours and that was taking my time.

Easy install good directions looked at a couple of [online] videos from earlier model Chevy Silverados. Great company to do business with fast shipping. If your not sure what baseplate fits your vehicle take a picture of the front and send it to them. They send me a link to all the parts I needed
